This is How We Roll...

On February 3rd, all Spectro employees and "+1s" were invited to our annual holiday party. It was a wonderful evening that included a delicious meal, prize give-a-ways and bowling. Over 160 people attended, and a great time was had by all.

Thank you to all of our suppliers and vendors for donating prizes! Thanks to your generosity, every employee was able to leave with a prize.  We greatly value our relationships and can't thank you enough for your support and kindness!  It was nice to take an evening to celebrate the successes of the year and spend time with one another outside of work.

Press Release: Spectro Saves Enough Energy To Power All Minneapolis Homes

EARTH DAY PRESS RELEASE: LOCAL RECYCLING COMPANY SAVES ENOUGH ENERGY TO POWER EVERY HOME IN MINNEAPOLIS

Recycling at Spectro Alloys Corp will save enough energy to power over 200,000 homes this year

Rosemount, MN, April 22, 2016 – While their electric bills won’t disappear, Minneapolis residents can feel good about the fact that local aluminum recycling will save enough energy to cover all of their consumption this year.  In addition, annual aluminum recycling at Spectro Alloys will reduce CO2 emissions equivalent to taking 80,000 cars off the road.*

When it comes to recycling, there is no bigger success story than aluminum. It is infinitely recyclable, it uses 10 times less energy and releases far less CO2 than new aluminum production. In celebration of Earth Day, we’d like to thank Minnesota businesses and residents for the part they play in recycling aluminum.
— Luke Palen, President, Spectro Alloys Corp

Spectro Alloys recycles regionally sourced post-consumer aluminum, then sells it to Minnesota’s die cast and foundry businesses, where it becomes new lawn mower engines, car parts, transmission cases, etc.  A St. Paul foundry even makes playground equipment from aluminum recycled at Spectro Alloys.

Our customers love the fact that they are using recycled aluminum, and their customers – the end consumers - value sustainable products. It’s great to know that the entire recycling process happens so close to home and is so beneficial to the environment.
— Tim Hartigan, President of St. Paul Brass and Aluminum
